The Renegade Products 6 in Mini Airway Polishing Kit is a compact 3-stage metal polishing system for smaller projects, detailed surfaces, and hard-to-reach areas. Three 6 in airway wheels pair with three solid compounds to cut, refine, and finish properly prepared bare aluminum.

What Else Do I Need?

A compatible 5 or 6 in variable-speed grinder or polisher, compatible 3 in Mini Safety Flanges, a buffing wheel rake, and appropriate PPE. These items are sold separately and are not included. Verify tool, center-hole, and flange compatibility before use.

How Do I Use It on Aluminum?

Surface prep: Clean the metal and sand oxidation, scratches, or pitting as needed. Surface preparation directly affects the final result.

1. Cut: Pair the Yellow wheel with 539R compound at approximately 2,500 RPM.
2. Refine and color: Pair the Purple wheel with RCX compound at approximately 2,000 RPM.
3. Final finish: Pair the White Domet Flannel wheel with Competition Purple compound at approximately 1,600 RPM.

Keep each compound assigned to its matching wheel to avoid cross-contamination. Use a buffing wheel rake to prime the wheel and remove compound buildup as needed.

What Metal Is This Process For?

The complete 3-stage sequence above is designed for aluminum. Other metals may require different wheel and compound pairings.

Important Compatibility and Safety Information

The included wheels have 5/8 in center holes and are designed for compatible 5 or 6 in variable-speed grinder or polisher setups. Compatible 3 in Mini Safety Flanges are required and sold separately. Do not use these wheels with a single-speed, high-RPM grinder.

Maximum wheel speed is 3,500 RPM. Never exceed the lowest speed rating of the wheel, flanges, or machine. Inspect each wheel before use and do not use a damaged wheel. Keep hair, loose clothing, and jewelry away from rotating parts. Use appropriate eye, face, hearing, and respiratory protection, and follow all equipment instructions.
