WHAT DOES IT DO?

The toothed rake head removes hardened, spent metal polishing compound and rouge from the working edge of an airway buffing wheel. Removing this buildup helps expose a cleaner wheel surface so the buff can accept fresh polishing compound and continue working effectively.

WHEN SHOULD I REPLACE THE RAKE HEAD?

Replace the head when its teeth become dull, damaged, or worn and no longer remove compound buildup effectively.

WHEN SHOULD I RAKE AN AIRWAY BUFFING WHEEL?

Rake the wheel when dried compound builds up, the working edge develops a glazed or silver appearance, or polishing performance begins to decline. After cleaning the wheel, apply a small amount of fresh metal polishing compound.

INSTALLATION AND SAFETY

Disconnect power before installing or adjusting the replacement head. Secure it to a compatible handle with the included hardware and confirm that all hardware is tight before each use. Follow all instructions and rated speed limits supplied with your rake, buffing wheel, and machine. Keep machine guards in place, wear the required eye, face, and respiratory protection, and keep hands, hair, and loose clothing away from rotating equipment. Never use the replacement head without a handle or brace the rake with your feet.
